Cell Brands
The silver-fish case is the closest thing the e-bike aftermarket has to a standard, and the KT-D02 is our implementation of it: a 108.00 × 76.00mm aluminium extrusion with 94.25 × 73.40mm of internal section, a moulded head with a carry handle and a keyed lock, mounted on a rear-rack rail. It is what a distributor specifies when the bikes are already in the field and the packs need replacing.
Four lengths cover the range: 265mm for 65 cells, 325mm for 78, 345mm for 91, and 385mm for 104. The counts step in thirteens — 13S5P through 13S8P for a 48V platform — so the length choice is really a parallel-count choice, and it sets both capacity and the current the pack can sustain.
Capacity is quoted against your cell, not published
This platform is deliberately listed by cell count rather than amp-hours. A 104-cell 13S8P pack is 8 parallel groups; the amp-hour figure that produces depends on whether those are 3.0Ah, 3.4Ah or 3.7Ah cells, and on this platform the cell choice is usually driven by landed cost rather than by the specification. We confirm the amp-hour and watt-hour figures against the cell in your RFQ. Our cell brands and grades guide covers what that choice does to cycle life and warranty exposure.
The extrusion is 21700-compatible, which raises capacity per length at a lower cell count. For a 21700-first build with the cell counts already worked out, the KT-D15 is the platform to look at.
Replacement programmes: match the fit before the spec
If this is a replacement or own-label range, three things decide compatibility before any electrical discussion: the rack rail the case slides onto, the connector, and the length. Send a photo of the existing pack’s rail and connector with the RFQ. Getting a 385mm case to a customer whose rack takes 345mm is the most expensive kind of avoidable error in this category.
CE, UN 38.3 and IEC 62133 documentation is issued against the built configuration. If you are importing these into the EU or US as a distributor, note that the obligations land on you rather than on us — the importer checklist sets out which.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the catalog list cell counts instead of amp-hours?
Because on this platform the capacity is a consequence of the cell you choose, not of the case. A 385mm KT-D02 holds 104 cells in 13S8P; whether that is 24Ah or 30Ah depends entirely on the cell. We quote the amp-hour figure against the specific cell in your RFQ rather than publishing a number that only holds for one bill of materials.
How do the four lengths map to series and parallel counts?
The cell counts step in thirteens — 65, 78, 91, 104 — which is 13S5P through 13S8P for a 48V build. A 36V (10S) build uses the same extrusion with a different arrangement and cell count; tell us the voltage platform with the RFQ.
Which connector should we specify?
Match whatever is already in the field if this is a replacement programme — that is usually the whole point of choosing silver-fish. DC2.1 is the most common charge port, XLR is typical on older conversion kits, and the round aviation connector is used where the plug takes abuse. Changing it later means new harness tooling.
